2027 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray, exterior front three-quarter, in Tulsa, OK

The 2027 Corvette Stingray is the car that makes the whole lineup make sense, and for 2027 it gets a serious upgrade: the next-generation naturally aspirated LS6 6.7L V8, now making 535 horsepower and 520 lb-ft of torque. That is the highest torque of any naturally aspirated production V8 ever built, and it lands in the least expensive Corvette you can buy, starting at $71,000 before the $2,495 destination charge.

For a Tulsa buyer the Stingray is the one that does everything: quick enough for a weekend at the track, civil enough for a clear-morning run out the Creek Turnpike, and priced where a real person can reach it. Jim Norton T-Town Chevrolet stocks and orders the Stingray, so the color, the seats and the Z51 package are yours to choose.

What the 2027 Stingray Adds This Year

The headline change is the engine. The 2027 Stingray replaces the outgoing 6.2L LT2 with the next-generation LS6 6.7L V8, and output climbs to 535 horsepower and 520 lb-ft. The prior 2026 Corvette Stingray, still on our lot, made 495 horsepower from the smaller LT2, so this is a real jump in both displacement and output, not a trim shuffle. The cabin technology, the dual-clutch transaxle and the removable-roof body carry over from the redesigned car.

2027 Stingray Engine and Drivetrain

The LS6 is a 6.7L naturally aspirated V8 with a 13.0:1 compression ratio, the highest Chevrolet has run in a Corvette V8, and a new continuously variable oil pump that holds pressure across the rev range. Its 535 horsepower and 520 lb-ft arrive without a turbo or a supercharger, so throttle response is immediate and the power builds with revs. Drive goes to the rear wheels through an eight-speed dual-clutch transaxle; there is no manual gearbox on this generation.

With the available equipment the Stingray reaches 60 mph in 2.8 seconds and covers the quarter mile in 11.0 seconds at 124 mph. It stays rear-wheel drive; if you want all-weather traction, the hybrid all-wheel-drive Corvettes are the Grand Sport X and the ZR1X.

Stingray Chassis and Hardware

The Stingray keeps the narrower Corvette body, which sets it apart from the wide-body Grand Sport and Z06. Brembo antilock disc brakes are standard at all four corners, and available Magnetic Selective Ride Control 4.0 reads the road and adjusts damping continuously.

The available Z51 Performance Package is the one to know. It adds performance Brembo brakes, a performance suspension, a performance rear axle ratio, an electronic limited-slip differential, a Z51-specific front splitter and rear spoiler, a heavy-duty cooling system and Michelin Pilot Sport S 5 tires sized 245/35ZR19 front and 305/30ZR20 rear. It is the package track-day drivers order, and it is required for track use.

2027 Stingray Pricing and Packages

Three equipment levels, each carrying the full 535 horsepower. The ladder is about the seats, the audio and the driver aids you live with. Prices exclude the $2,495 destination charge; the convertible adds to each figure.

Equipment levelStarting MSRPWhat it adds

Where the Stingray Sits in the Corvette Lineup

The Stingray is the entry point, and every step up trades price for a different kind of capability. The Grand Sport keeps the 535-hp LS6 but adds the wide Z06 body and chassis. The Z06 steps to a 670-hp flat-plane V8, the ZR1 to a 1,064-hp twin-turbo, and the ZR1X to 1,250-hp hybrid all-wheel drive. The full head-to-head is on the models-compared page.

2027 Corvette Stingray Frequently Asked Questions

Does the 2027 Corvette Stingray really make 535 horsepower?

Yes. For 2027 the Stingray moves to the next-generation naturally aspirated LS6 6.7L V8, rated at 535 horsepower and 520 lb-ft of torque, up from the 495 horsepower of the 2026 car's LT2 engine.

Is the 2027 Stingray still naturally aspirated?

Yes. The LS6 6.7L V8 has no turbo or supercharger. The only turbocharged Corvettes are the ZR1 and ZR1X, which share the twin-turbo 5.5L LT7.

What does a 2027 Corvette Stingray cost?

The 1LT starts at $71,000, the 2LT at $78,100 and the 3LT at $82,750, each before the $2,495 destination charge. The convertible and options add from there.

What is the difference between the Stingray and the Grand Sport?

Both use the same 535-hp LS6 V8, so the choice is not about power. The Stingray keeps the narrow body and the $71,000 entry price; the Grand Sport spends the difference on width and cornering hardware and starts at $86,000.

Does the Stingray come with a manual transmission?

No. Every 2027 Corvette, including the Stingray, uses an eight-speed dual-clutch automatic transaxle. This generation offers no manual gearbox.

Is the 2027 Stingray offered as a convertible?

Yes. The Stingray is sold as a coupe with a removable roof panel and as a convertible with a power hardtop that raises or lowers at low speed. The convertible adds to each equipment level's price.

What comes in the Stingray Z51 Performance Package?

Performance Brembo brakes, a performance suspension, a performance rear axle ratio, an electronic limited-slip differential, a Z51 front splitter and rear spoiler, heavy-duty cooling and Michelin Pilot Sport S 5 tires. It is required for track use.

How quick is the 2027 Corvette Stingray?

With the available equipment it reaches 60 mph in 2.8 seconds and runs the quarter mile in 11.0 seconds at 124 mph. Intervals and ownership costs are on the Corvette service page.
