Grand Sport

A rear-drive sports car with a naturally aspirated 6.7L LS6 V8 making 535 horsepower and 520 lb-ft, the highest torque of any naturally aspirated production V8 ever built. It carries the Z06-derived wide body, Magnetic Selective Ride Control 4.0, eBoost-assisted Brembo brakes with six-piston front calipers, and staggered 20-inch front and 21-inch rear forged wheels. Two performance packages are available: Z52 Sport, and Z52 Track with carbon-ceramic brakes, Cup 2 R tyres, quad centre exhaust and the Carbon Fiber Aero Package. Grand Sport X

The same LS6 V8 at the rear, plus an electric drive unit on the front axle contributing 186 horsepower and 145 lb-ft, for 721 combined horsepower and all-wheel drive. Its 1.9 kWh battery charges itself as you drive, so there is nothing to plug in and nothing to plan around. Carbon-ceramic brakes and all-season tyres are standard, as is Magnetic Ride Control. It carries the same wide body and the same 1LT, 2LT and 3LT structure, in coupe or convertible, and the head-up display is standard from 1LT rather than 2LT.

The Grand Sport

Rear-wheel drive is the whole argument. A 535-horsepower car sending everything to the rear axle is the classic sports-car configuration, and it is the one that rewards a driver on a clear road. It is also the lighter of the two, and on a car built around balance that is worth more than a horsepower figure suggests.

It takes the Z52 Track Performance Package, with its carbon-ceramic brakes, Cup 2 R tyres and quad centre exhaust, and the Carbon Fiber Aero Package is exclusive to it. For a driver who books track days, the Grand Sport has the deeper option list pointed exactly at that use, and it is on sale now.

The Grand Sport X

All-wheel drive is what the X gives you, and in Oklahoma that is worth real days behind the wheel. A cold, damp morning on the Broken Arrow Expressway is a different proposition in a car that can send torque to the front axle, and the months in which the car is genuinely usable stretch accordingly. The extra 186 horsepower is real too: 721 combined, 2.4 seconds to 60 mph, and a 10.4-second quarter at 131 mph.

It also starts better equipped: carbon-ceramic brakes standard rather than a package item, all-season tyres as the standard fitment, and the head-up display from 1LT.
