The Z06 shares no engine with the rest of the range. In place of the Stingray and Grand Sport's LS6, it runs a bespoke 5.5L LT6 flat-plane-crank V8, and it adds the wide body, forged wheels, bigger brakes and track aero that the Stingray does not offer. It also costs substantially more than the Stingray, which buys a fundamentally different car rather than a faster version of the same one.

With the Z07 package the Z06 reaches 60 mph in 2.6 seconds and runs the quarter mile in 10.6 seconds at 131 mph, with a top speed of 189 mph, rising to 195 mph with Z07 aero.

Z06 Chassis and Hardware

The Z06 wears the wide Corvette body and rides on 20x10-inch front and 21x13-inch rear forged wheels with Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 tires as standard. Brembo brakes are standard, with carbon-ceramic rotors available. The car is built to put its 670 horsepower to the ground on a circuit, which is why the hardware, not just the engine, separates it from the Stingray.

The available Z07 Performance Package is the track step: carbon-ceramic brakes, Michelin Cup 2R tires, a Z07-specific Magnetic Ride calibration and added cooling, and it requires the Carbon Fiber Aero Package, which brings a high wing, dive planes and a front splitter. Z07 is what lifts the top speed to 195 mph.
